The village of St Agnes is situated on the north Cornwall coast,
nestling in the lee of St Agnes Beacon and reaching down to the
sheltered Atlantic beach of Trevaunance Cove.
The area has a rich mining and sea-faring heritage, but more recently
has become a favoured holiday destination for those seeking the
tranquillity of a rural retreat with the vibrancy of a
traditional Cornish community.
Argantel is on the historic site of the village foundry, which dates back
almost 200 years. Today, echoes of the past remain in a few stone
ruins glimpsed through the covering of protected woodland that
provides an idyllic haven for wildlife.
Trevaunance Cove (St Agnes beach) is just over a third of a mile.
The cove is a one of the safest beaches for swimming on the north
Cornwall coast,
but also provides some of the finest surf.
For those who prefer walking, a footpath leads along the side of the
valley
on to the South West Coast Path.
